This Privacy Policy explains how CSEdge Portfolio Pulse ("CSEdge Portfolio Pulse", "we", "us", or "our"), operated by CSEdge, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our service at https://portfolio.pulse.csedge.co.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you sign in with Google or GitHub (via Firebase Authentication), we collect your name, email address, and profile picture URL provided by the identity provider. We do not store your passwords.
Portfolio data
All content you enter in the builder (name, bio, projects, skills, experience, etc.) is stored in Firebase Firestore under your user account. This data is used solely to render and deploy your portfolio.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We store only your Razorpay order ID and payment ID for verification purposes. We do not store credit card or bank account details — these are handled entirely by Razorpay.
Usage analytics
We collect anonymised event data (e.g. templates selected, deploys, PDF exports) stored in Firebase Firestore. These events are linked to your user ID and are used to improve the product and power your in-app analytics dashboard.
Cookies and local storage
We use browser local storage to save your draft portfolio data so it persists between sessions. Firebase Authentication uses cookies to manage your login session. See our Cookie Policy for details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the portfolio builder service
- To save and restore your portfolio drafts across sessions
- To process Pro plan purchases and grant Pro access
- To show you your own analytics dashboard (Pro users)
- To deploy your portfolio to GitHub Pages on your behalf
- To send transactional communications (e.g. payment receipts)
- To improve the product based on aggregated usage patterns
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication), which is hosted in Google's secure cloud infrastructure. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We apply Firestore security rules to ensure you can only access your own data.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google) — Authentication, database, and optional analytics. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Razorpay — Payment processing. Governed by Razorpay's Privacy Policy.
- GitHub — Portfolio deployment via GitHub Pages API. Governed by GitHub's Privacy Statement.
- Vercel — Hosting for this web app. Governed by Vercel's Privacy Policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and portfolio data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated portfolio data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Payment records may be retained for up to 7 years for accounting and legal compliance.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Export your portfolio data

7. Children's Privacy
CSEdge Portfolio Pulse is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
